Bob Andrews has spent a lifetime pursuing his career, academic, and philanthropic passions. He has been a firefighter and fire chief, professional engineer, police dog trainer, law enforcement officer, luxury passenger train operator, teacher, mentor, executive coach, serial entrepreneur, and philanthropist. Perhaps more importantly, Bob has been a life-long learner.

One of the things that Bob has experienced, is that it is often not enough to be a good leader, or practitioner, relying only upon your “gut” to make the big decisions. Likewise, having only academic knowledge, never having made a high-stakes decision under the time and budget constraints of the “real world”, can also fall short of the goal. Bob Andrews understands both worlds.

A graduate of Temple University’s highly-regarded Executive Doctorate in Business Administration program, Dr. Bob Andrews can help you breach the gap between the academic and practitioner, allowing you and your organization to make better decisions through practice-focused applied research. While every challenge is different, Bob’s basic approach is to help his clients tackle complex business and organizational challenges through accurate problem definition, the testing of assumptions, and by comparing alternative solutions.

A life-long learner, in June 2024, Bob completed the prestigeous Advanced Leadership Program (ALP) at The University of Cambridge, England, where he was a member of Cohort 24 (ALP24). Cohort 24 was compromised of 25 C-suite executives representing 16 countries.

With a strong desire to "give back to society through academia", in March 2023, Dr. Andrews was appointed an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Fire Protection Engineering in the University of Maryland's A. James Clark School of Engineering. In July 2024, Dr. Andrews was appointed a Visiting Fellow at the Durham Institute of Research, Development, and Invention (DIRDI) at the University of Durham, England.
